bright light: The battery is sufficiently recharged.
With a fully recharged battery, the
operating time is approx. 1
1
/2 hours.
flashing: The battery must be recharged (see
following chapter 4.1.1), however,
operation is still possible for approx.
another 10 minutes.
dim light: The battery is discharged and the
monitor is switched off.
Further operation is possible with a
separate power supply unit (see
chapter 4.2).
3) For reception, set the switch “AV” (17) to position
“out” and use the rotary switch “channel” (15) to
adjust the channel on which the transmitter or the
wireless camera operates:

4) If the automatic selection between different chan-
nels has been activated, adjust the dwell time be-
tween one and six seconds with the control “time”
(13).
5) If the surveillance camera and the corresponding
transmitter operate correctly, the monitor displays
a picture. For basic adjustment, turn the control
“Videolevel” (5) to mid-position first. With the con-
trols “brightness” (10), “contrast” (16), and “color”
(19), adjust an optimum picture reproduction. If the
control “contrast” has been turned turned fully to
the left or to the right, readjust the basic contrast
adjustment with the control “Videolevel (5)”.
6) If the picture on the monitor is to be mirrored hori-
zontally (laterally inverted display), set the switch
“horizontal” (9) to the upper position. For vertical
reflection (picture is turned upside down), set the
switch “vertical” (8) to the upper position. With
these functions, e. g. it is possible to obtain a cor-
rect reproduction of a camera which is mounted
upside down.
7) After operation, switch off the monitor by turning
the control “On-Volume” counter-clockwise.
4.1.1 Recharging the internal
rechargeable battery
The rechargeable battery must only be recharged via
the charger AV-50CH from the MONACOR range as it
has been specially designed for the AV-200LCD.
To ensure a long service life of the rechargeable
battery, it should be completely discharged before it is
recharged. If it is frequently recharged too early, this
will result in a capacity loss of the rechargeable battery.
Use the discharge facility of the charger AV-50CH, if
required.
1) Switch off the monitor by turning the control “On-
Volume” (2) counter-clockwise.
2) Select the adapter with the blue ring (supplied with
the charger) and connect it to the inline jack of the
charger so that the positive sign of the adapter and
the positive sign of the inline jack face each other.
3) Connect the charger via the adapter to the jack
“charge” (18) of the monitor.
4) Connect the charger to a mains socket (230 V~/
50 Hz).
5) After connection, the charger will first start a test
cycle and then start recharging – also see the oper-
ating instructions of the charger!
4.2 Operation via a separate
12 V power supply unit
For continuous operation or in case of discharged
rechargeable battery, it is possible to operate the AV-
200LCD via a separate power supply unit (minimum
output current 600 mA), e. g. MONACOR PS-1615ST.
1) If the power supply unit can be set to different out-
put voltage values, set it to 12 V first.
2) Connect the power supply unit via a low voltage
plug 5.5/2.1 mm (outside/inside diameter) to the
jack “12-14V” (20). Observe the correct polarity in
any case: the positive pole must be at the inner
contact of the plug.
3) Connect the power supply unit to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
4) Switch on the monitor by turning the control “On-
Volume” (2) clockwise. The red LED (3) will light up
as an indicator for operation and the 12 V oper-
ating voltage:
bright light: operating voltage sufficient
flashing: voltage below 11.5 V
dim light: voltage below 10.7 V,
the monitor is switched off
5) If a power supply unit is connected, the internal
rechargeable battery can be simultaneously re-
charged via the charger AV-50CH (see chapter
4.1.1).
6) Even with the monitor switched off, the power sup-
ply unit connected to the 230 V mains supply has a
low current consumption. If the monitor is not used
for a longer period, the power supply unit should
therefore be disconnected from the mains socket.
4.3 Connection of additional units
4.3.1 External antenna
To obtain a longer range to the transmitter or to the
wireless camera, an external antenna can be connect-
ed via the SMA jack instead of the omnidirectional
antenna (6) screwed on the unit. For this purpose,
MONACOR offers e. g. the directional antenna DX-80
with 8 dB gain or DX-180 with 18 dB gain.
