7 Jack “video” serves as a video input [switch “AV”
(17) set to “in”], e. g. for connecting a camera or as
a video output [switch “AV” set to “out”], e. g. for
connecting another monitor or a video recorder

ter)
2 Safety Notes
The unit corresponds to the directive for electromag-
netic compatibility 89/336/EEC.
The monitor is suitable for indoor use only. Protect
it against soiling, humidity, and heat (admissible
ambient temperature range 0 40 °C).
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the unit is used for other purposes than originally
intended, if it is not correctly connected or operated
or not repaired in an expert way, no liability for any
damage will be accepted.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively,
take it to a local recycling plant for a disposal which
is not harmful to the environment.
3 Applications
In connection with a corresponding transmitter or a
wireless surveillance camera of the MONACOR
“AV ...” series, this LCD colour monitor with integrated
receiver for the 2.4 GHz range serves for wireless
audio and video surveillance. Power supply can be
effected via a separate 12 V power supply unit or via
the internal rechargeable battery. This allows an oper-
ation of approx. 1
1
/2
hours independent of the mains
supply, e. g. in mobile applications as a test monitor
for existing systems or systems to be installed.
The transmission range largely depends on the
local conditions and the transmitter used. Without any
obstacles in the transmission path between transmit-
ter and monitor, the range can be up to 750 m, how-
ever, in buildings it is reduced by walls and ceilings to
approx. 50 m depending on their condition. The range
can be increased by connecting a separate antenna.
4 Setting the Unit into Operation
4.1 Mobile operation via the internal recharge-
able battery
1) Switch on the monitor by turning the control “On-
Volume” (2) clockwise. Simultaneously adjust the
volume with the control. If audio transmission is
not required, set the control to minimum volume.
2) After switching on, the red power LED (3) lights up.
At the same time, the LED serves as a charging
indicator for the internal rechargeable battery:
